Count Nicolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf

Marie Agnes and Marie Justine von Watterville

Zinzendorf's daughter

The painting on the left is of the Zinzendorf’s daughter, the ninth child, Marie Agnes, born November 6, 1735, in Herrnhut. As a young girl of thirteen years she was consecrated as a deaconess. At thirty-one years of age she married Moritz Wilhelm, Burgrave and Count of Dohna at Lindsey House in Chelsey, London. After her husband’s death she moved into the Widows’ House in Herrnhut (February 17, 1784).

The portrait below is of the Count and Countess’ granddaughter, Marie Justine von Watteville (1762-1828).
