Meeting Hall in Winston-Salem, NC

Picture of Meeting Hall

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is the Home Moravian Church, which was founded in 1771. The present meeting hall was built in 1800. The year 2000 was the two hundredth anniversary of its construction. The Moravians themselves, those coming from Europe, are immediately aware of (shocked by!) the contrast between American and European meeting places. Here can be seen stained-glass windows; an elevated pulpit in front of the congregation; fixed pews; choir, organ, and organ pipes in the front; and a multi-colored interior.
